16S, 18S, ITS amplicon sequencing

Full length amplicon sequencing is a method based on high-throughput sequencing technology that allows for in-depth study of microbial communities by amplifying and sequencing specific gene fragments, such as 16S rRNA, 18S rRNA, or ITS regions. This method is particularly suitable for analyzing microbial diversity in complex environments., In full-length amplicon sequencing, taking 16S rRNA as an example, by designing specific primers, a full-length sequence containing 9 highly variable regions can be amplified. These highly variable regions are areas with a high degree of variation in 16S rRNA, thus containing rich species information.

Through the Pacbio equal read length sequencing platform, sequence information of these highly variable regions can be obtained in one go, greatly improving the efficiency and accuracy of sequencing. After obtaining these full-length sequences, bioinformatics tools can be used for sequence analysis and annotation. By comparing the sequence information in known databases, the species attribution of microorganisms in the sample can be determined, even to the level of "species". This high-resolution species identification helps to more accurately reflect the community structure of microorganisms in the sample
